Ways to Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month 2020
Hispanic Heritage Month was created to recognize the positive impact that Hispanic Americans have left on the country. According to the Census Report, the Hispanic population is the largest minority group in the country and is projected to reach 111 million by 2060.
Hispanic Heritage Month begins its celebration on September 15th because on this date, in 1821, five Latin American countries Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua earned their independence from Spain. Linked below is some local and national celebrations, however, this year many celebrations will be done virtually. Don’t forget to support Latinx owned businesses – see the link below for a local list. Happy Hispanic Heritage Month 2020!
